The Linden Cardigan is a new design by Melody Hoffmann, knitted in Hillesvåg Solje in a simple textured pattern of garter stitch with a slipped stitch motif - a simple, basic cardigan, but addictive to knit and definitely a wardrobe staple.

Linden is a slightly cropped cardigan, which makes it perfect to wear with any kind of high-waisted garment (of course, you can add more length if you wish, in this case be sure to check the quantity of yarn and buy a bigger size for extra yarn if necessary). The fit is slightly oversized and boxy with quite fitted sleeves to add a more feminine touch to the silhouette.

The cardigan is knitted in one piece from the bottom up.  It is worked flat as the texture features a slipped stitch in garter stitch, so knits up very fast as there is minimal purling involved. 

The button band is worked at the same time as the rest of the body, so there are no stitches to pick up afterwards.  Neck shaping is done using German short rows.

4.5mm circular needles for body and sleeves

GAUGE
20 rows x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stitch pattern worked flat in larger needles.
