Phaos Top by Natalie Perreau - Kit

Phaos is a relaxed drop shoulder top designed to be worn when the temperatures start rising and the days get longer. It can also be worn layered when there is just a little chill in the air. It has a simple shape which looks good on all body types and pretty eyelets which are just so comfortable to wear.

The construction of Phaos is very simple. First, you will work the back with increases for European shoulders and continue down to the underarm. Next, you will work the left side of the front and the right side of the front before joining them with a pretty V-neck and continuing down to the underarm. After that you will join the front and the back to work in the round and have the choice between working Phaos straight down from there or working a slightly tapered body. Lastly you will work minimal cap sleeves as a finishing touch.

Phaos is knitted in our own Lumen yarn, a lovely light mix of Polwarth wool, linen and Tencel, perfect for spring and summer days.

The designer Natalie Perreau is a longstanding customer and enthusiastic user of Laine des Iles yarns. A particularly gifted knitter, we are thrilled that she has now decided to take up designing knitting patterns and that she has allowed us to offer this lovely summer top as a kit. Designed to be worn with an approx. ease of 10cm (worn on its own) to 20cm (if worn layered over another top)

NEEDLES
3.5 mm needles (or size needed to make gauge) for eyelet pattern

3.25 mm needle (or size needed to make gauge) for stocking stitch on sleeves

A cable needle or DPN the same size or smaller than main needle (used only once for 1 stitch)

GAUGE
24 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm in eyelet pattern after blocking.

25 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stocking stitch after blocking.

NOTIONS
2 stitch markers, 2 movable stitch markers, tapestry needle, spare cables or yarn for putting stitches on hold
